Navigating healthy eating with a sensitive stomach can be a daunting task, especially for those following a plant-based diet. Finding the right plant-based proteins that won’t trigger unpleasant symptoms is crucial. Bianca Tamburello, RDN, explains that a sensitive stomach is characterized by gastrointestinal symptoms like bloating, gas, and more, triggered by certain foods. Determining these trigger foods can be tricky, but low-FODMAP foods like oats, nut butter, nutritional yeast, soy products, hemp hearts, and more can be less likely to cause issues. These plant-based protein options offer a variety of nutrients while being gentle on the stomach, making them ideal choices for individuals with sensitive stomachs.
