Behold “Hands from Sands,” a marvel set to vanish from the Saudi desert within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra in AlUla. This ephemeral masterpiece by David Popa was commissioned as a beacon of the I Care campaign, championing the preservation of Saudi Arabia’s cultural legacy.

Created from sustainable materials, “Hands from Sands” embodies the campaign’s mission to nurture and conserve Saudi Arabia’s historical tapestry. Previously a key point along ancient trade routes, Hegra is now an open-air museum with over a hundred meticulously preserved tombs and ancient rock carvings.

“Hands from Sands” is a magnificent installation spanning over a hundred meters, blending earth and water to create an ephemeral masterpiece. Made only from natural materials and source water, the artist imbues the creation with a vitality that defies its transience. AlUla also features attractions like Maraya, a venue covered in mirrors.
